What to do when life interrupts business?

I am almost certain that this question arises over and over and over again with regards to entrepreneurs and starting a new business. Even if you have been in business for a while, it’s not like you are exempt to life and all that comes with it. For me, life has been a rollercoaster ride. I experienced depression last year, the year before my brother was killed and this year my mother died. My mind has not been what it needs to be to keep a business in tact to say the least but I try my hardest to keep on keeping on. Javaboi Industries and Smile Brewery are companies that I have worked hard to keep afloat. I have built a rapport with several of the fans on the Javaboi Fan Page I believe you have to find whatever you have inside of you to do whatever it takes to get the motivation to keep on moving forward. That is exactly what I did, and I am still here, and so is Javaboi and Smile Brewery. I always remember the reason WHY I am doing what I am doing and the vision of my kids being proud of me always keeps me going and re-fires me back up to do what I need to do to do what I need to do. I also found that watching comedy on YouTube such as Kevin Hart or Mike Epps always made me smile… Other strategies include listening to music that amps me to keep on keeping on. Eminem is the king of that for me! LOL! Anyway I hope this helps you when you are feeling like throwing the towel. Plans for my brand -Javaboi & Smile Brewery

You have been following me for a minute, and you know when my company is doing fabulous and when it is just coasting by. Right now is a time in my life where I have positioned myself to thrive both in my business and in my personal life. Let’s just get one thing out of the way while I have your attention. I WILL NEVER STOP TRYING TO MAKING PEOPLE SMILE THROUGH MY SMILE BREWERY BRAND! So regardless of if things are going slow or fast, I am here to stay. Life has had it’s way of testing me to see just how focused I was on this brand and I am still here so eventually I think life will work for me instead of against me. Anyway enough about that. Next moves with regards to growing my brand are simple:

1. New product: Currently I am saving capital that I will use to remove old product from inventory with the exception of a few favorites, and replace them with new Smile Brewery products.

2. Marketing campaign: I plan on hitting all the local colleges up with free products from Smile Brewery! Of course this time around I will be very selective regarding who gets what. Stickers, Tees, and rubber bracelets, all are apart of my arsenal of freebies.

3. Major distribution: I currently have a connection that has shown some interest in Smile Brewery. This connection has major clout with all the airports nationwide. I have been asked to submit a catalog which is what I plan on doing once all our product is designed and produced.

4. Appreciation for the fans: Once I get the company back to where it should be, I plan on showing love to all of my fans and friends who stayed with me during the hard times I have personally experienced. One way or another I will get the point across that you have been greatly appreciated and that I am grateful to have you all in my life by my side!

Life is hard. I think when we talk about Karma, its just a way of saying that eventually what you put out will show up to bite you in the rear-end soon enough because that is how life is. We all make mistakes in life and we all suffer the consequences of those mistakes one way or another, now or later. It’s inevitable. You get what you put out in this world if you are a liar, plan on being lied to by someone who you trust. If you cheat plan on being cheated on, if you hate plan on getting hated on. Basic law of life. However it is my belief that we can have a life filled with joy, SMILES, love and happiness! How? Simply put.. Choose to be happy. It is as simple as that. Depression is something we do, its not a mandatory state of being when something bad happens to you. Some people do depression, others don’t imagine if you could train yourself to be happy all the time. No matter what the situation is! When we go through life with all the emotions and mental challenges that usually dictate our behavior and actions we take regarding adverse situations it like walking on a football field full of defenders and poison ivy in the way of the goal line. However if we could just make the choice that we are going to be happy both the defenders, in addition to the poison ivy disappears and life becomes so much easier. Try it, yes it is easier said than done but we have YouTube comedians, funny books, and our friends, family, and children to make us happy. Use your arsenal of happy weapons against life and adversity on a daily basis and I am sure you will change the default state of anger, depression, and sadness when something goes wrong.

Smile Brewery Catalog Coming Late February 2012

I have done a little more due diligence than normal and I have decided to mature the brand just a little bit. Meaning more earth tones, organics, and I am also adding a lot more meaning behind each product. At this time I am trying to get into Airports nationwide so I am preparing a catalog for a very important person in that regard. I think the products that I am designing will fit places like L.A.X & Las Vegas International just perfect! I anticipate keeping a few shirts from the Javaboi Industries days as you can see this t-shirt is still hot and I actually designed it for myself. the response was heavy so I put it on the market. Life is a very tough opponent to try and defeat. Sometimes Life will knock us flat on our rear ends, and while we are struggling to recover life kicks us right in the face. If you have ever suffered from some of life’s adversities such as depression, debt, heartbreak, divorce, loss of a loved one, you know first hand what a mean thing life can be. Trust me, I speak from experience, having gone through all of the aforementioned issues. Which is why I have embraced the recent change from Javaboi Industries to Smile Brewery. I know that when I was sad and depressed I would search for things that could alter my mood and make me smile. A lot of times nothing worked until I found out that YouTube had full episodes of comedy sketches and performances available for me to watch free of charge.. I have to tell you, this was the best therapy I could have ever received and I still use the Comedy YouTube formula to alter my mood til this day! Which is why, I have made it my mission to approach people that love to make people smile!

Smile Brewery is looking for comedians from all over the world to help get our Smiles Global Movement underway.
